The caption begins, "Built around the new 2,000 hp motor, this navy fighter has test flown a little over 400 mph, faster than any other single engine U. S. plane. Mission: with a radius of something under 1,000 miles it can accompany bombers farther than ordinary fighters. Its one drawback is size with a wing span greater than usual navy fighters, it reduces the number of fighters a carrier can
