This is a full set of vintage Ladybird books

which is not at all abvious

a butterfly nut at the bottom is removed

so although working and no damage to wires etc

the base is covered in strips of bamboo/ wicker in a lovely pattern

I'm not sure of the original design, but they had been badly painted over, so i have carefully re sprayed the lids a lovely rich yellow and re covered them with genuine, unused, vintage sticky back plastic, giving them a much needed new lease of life Lovely colours. Inside has a few rust marks, so i would suggest not using them for food directly in contact with the surface Great sizes too, largest is 20cm
