Turkey, Ottoman Empire. A First War Turkish War Medal, C.1916 Archive embossed with the maker’s mark(Harp Madalyas). Instituted in 1915. In silvered bronze with red enamels, unmarked, ball finials on the tips of the star points, measuring 57 mm (w) x 54. 5 mm (h), horizontal pinback, chipping and loss evident in the red enamels on the star point at 5 o'clock, traces of silvering remains, better than very fine. Footnote: The Gallipolli Star was a military decoration awarded by the Ottoman Empire. It is also known as the Ottoman War Medal. It was
