A circular medal constructed of bronze, the obverse bears a raised crossed paty with a central Saxon coat of arms, the 12 oclock arm bears a crown, the 9 and 3 oclock arms bear the date 1914, the reverse bears a crowned cipher E II (Duke Ernst II), with loop for suspension, measuring 32. 16 mm (w) x 35. 91 mm (h), fine.
